What if we decided to develop an app to fight back?
Image #8

Self-Cure App

The Self-Cure app is a gaming mobile application that sets a platform for a user to develop tasks that send out push-notifications.

Simple in it's description, but it has a twist like most things.

With the issue of individuals building connections without limitations, the problem starts to attack the mental fortitude of people. More and more people are unlikely to separate from their isolated bubble of their devices. Even if they agree that it is a problem. Therefore, the principle behind this solution is to bring it straight to them and attack the problem on the same platform.

So we focus on helping individuals set goals to help their future.

"The study revealed that the personal and professional self-development is a comprehensive system based on the active personal transformation being carried out in the course of behavior and activities self-regulation of their behavior, designed to achieve personal and professional goals (Garanina)."

In other words when an individual focuses on personal transformation, they partake in self-regulating activities and task managing projects. Naturally, even when we're bored we start to orient goals. 'Autobiographical planning' is when we create a story with the biggest moments in our highlight reel of life, and then set goals to figure out ways to reach them (Zomorodi).

So developing a mobile application called 'Self-Care' is rather intentional and would be the reversal to the issue at hand. Cultivating the mind in a space where it allows a user to open their self to thinking about their future is the intended purpose behind the app development. A task-list program that is designed as a game to keep individuals focused, alert and excited on different priorities they set.

The application would begin by formulating an algorithm based off the user inputs. The app will ask for the user reasons behind downloading the application such as what personal goals that the user wants to achieve. The application will feature categories such as deep-thought, critical thinking, character development, career, school, work, and time-management to tag along at the end of completed tasks or assignments.

Let's play the game then!

The built-in gaming functionality would be introduced through the task-list manager that only allows for three entries. First, the user would introduce daily tasks into the software for the basic functionality. Each project placed into the task list will build a virtual tree. As the day progresses, the tree slowly withers until the user completes the task entered in the device. If the day ends (which is also set by the user) before the user completes a task, the tree dies and leaves an area to discuss the reason on why the task has not been completed.

The user will be granted the option to plant a seed or let the tree remain dead. If the user plants the seed, they will receives the original seed and an additional one. From the previous explanation the user has the option to plant more seeds to gain more room for tasks or to repeat the process. The user will always have at least three seeds, and at maximum the user will have ten seeds.

This application will allow users to invest wisely in how they choose to tackle their daily tasks and provides a creative outlet to work on projects. Essentially, the app will also include activity feed that gauges the user screen consumption on other applications, as well as providing notifications in giving time away from the phone.

This concept is to keep users productive (which according to my survey more people believe they already are) and have a sense of fulfillment in each interaction.
