The idea of experiencing yourself more!

What is this? Where does this come from? Who is this dude? Is he dumb? Is this even real?
Wait, what am I searching again?
A lot of questions can be formulated from just this one post. And that's the point! The real question is that did you see the duck or the rabbit first?
Okay, but let's get serious. What has the internet come to?
Like this man you can probably relate to being tricked, and to be honest you may have even fell for this fake news story. If you haven't realized that yet, then I feel bad for you.
Here is the link to the article website about this fake news! Onion News
Now what really is going on?
Onion News is a satirical website that by many means I'm not too sure what's its purpose serves, but all respects go to the creators of this platform. However, an important aspect comes from this website, and it is that many people can fall for its deception. Without fact-checking, many perspectives can be formulated and can lead to further problems. This is just one area where misconceptions can be drawn. In reality, you are being influenced, deceived, and manipulated by anything and everything around you.
Now with such big claims, where are my sources to back it up? Well let's not jump the gun too quickly. It first stems from your beliefs. Your beliefs, goals or dreams are the root cause of what, why, how, when and where you can be influenced (Garanina). This is what makes us the social animals that we are, and why we should be weary of the interactions and the connections that we make.
In an interconnected world, we should learn from time to time to distance ourselves.
Technology has been able to drastically change the way our world works, and it has even changed how we behave on a regular basis. Our interdependence on technology has shifted our brains to believe that our devices are a necessity to our survival. 17 out of 26 people are unable to give up their phones for one day based off my survey (Springer).
Maybe it is a necessity? But when your privacy is breached, and your data is recorded then I am not sure.
I'm no here to bash on the advances we have made as a people. But I want to emphasize the importance of why you should be less dependent on a device, and more self-reflective; independent.
Let's begin the discussion, from this wisdom:
"Your beliefs become your thoughts,
Your thoughts become your words,
Your words become your actions,
Your actions become your habits,
Your habits become your values,
Your values become your destiny."
-Gandhi

The problem isn't necessarily the technology and the connected world. The problem is how will this affect the way we choose to live our lives or even the way we think.
