In many ways the problem is targeting the youth. Due to the wave of technological influence by social media, there is no way of sheltering this problem. And the best way to tackle an issue that is already growing rampantly within the population is to discuss the matter at hand.

Facilitated conversation and active engagement has proven to be a success in learning about a variety of topics. A fancy statement for saying school clubs or organizations. Therefore, the issue can be handled by creating one of those organizations.

Futurist Club

With inspiration from the TWiT Podcast (TWiT), the Futurist club will be a club supported through upper-level education. High schools and Universities should adopt the principles established within this club, because character development starts to nurture around this age demographic.

Especially when 71% of adolescents between the age of 18-24 are currently visiting Snap chat several times a day (Guinta).

In doing that the focal point of the club is to create a self-reflective space that discusses not only the problem of technology usage and consumption, but as well as to discuss the contents of future technological advancements with relations to the public.

If social interactions and connections are increasingly growing through technology, then having this organization can educate others on their behalf of the importance of being well informed on the dangers in constant online connectivity.

In addition, the club would highlight news and trending topics in the world of technology. Discussing the benefits and the hazards of interacting with these devices. Hosting events with parents, faculty, and students to present information about the mental affects of being invested in the trending world.

Conducting research and critically thinking about different applications to present information demonstrates the art of self-reflection itself. Members of the organization are prided upon choosing relevant topics that demonstrate their character. Therefore, there is a more thoughtful and moral approach in presenting information to the public.

By many means this organization will enhance, educate, and facilitate development of character in individuals to be more conscious and aware of the importance of the interconnected world that they live in. Making sure that their minds are cultivated in a way that starts to break the dependency of technology, and in return result in spending time creating deeper connections with other members on relevant and future topics.
